To Get to Ua-Pou
By plane (via the Twin Otter) or by boat to reach the island.
By plane:
3 hours and 15 minutes flight from Tahiti ATR (Air Tahiti or Air Moana) for the TAHITI > NUKU-HIVA route.
Then, NUKU-HIVA > UA-POU, a 20-minute flight in a Twin Otter, operated by Zimex and marketed by Air Tahiti.
By boat:
For the more adventurous, there's the option of exploring Nuku-Hiva by both land and sea:
Nuku-Hiva Airport is located 1 hour from the capital village of Taiohae. From there, you can take a taxi to reach the dock. Departing from the dock, take a boat.
The island of Ua Pou is accessible by private boat (fishing boats, speedboats, sailboats, catamarans) or through KAOHA TINI, a public service provider with a set schedule.
You also have the option of ARANUI 5 departing from Tahiti or Nuku-Hiva.
